Welcome to our website...a place for sisters and friends to visit for the latest news, updates, and information. Please visit us often.
I enjoyed my extended visits with all who attended! Sky and I joined other chapters at the Ice Cream Social. I had made a bouquet of flowers out of dollar bills. My idea was an auction item that didn't take up space and could be used anywhere.
Someone else had a GREAT idea. In a pizza box was a "pizza" - the "crust" was rolls of coins. The pizza bottom was covered in "dough" (bills) with "pepperoni" coins sprinkled on top. It was really clever!
Sky's art work was a hit, and someone stopped us in the hall to say that she is still hoping to win one of her pieces one day! Sky won something, so we were happy! After the auction we went into the hot tub which was wonderful!
On Saturday we learned some things at the workshops. I was introduced to the new on line system for reporting dues. It means less paperwork for me, so keep those checks or PayPal payments coming. I want to use what I learned!
The luncheon was not terribly delicious, and on Sunday we were told that our voices were heard (they read the comments on the surveys) - meatloaf will not be served again!
The Celebration of Life was moving, especially so because of the lovely words written by Peg and read by Sky. Maria was celebrated and remembered.
At the closing meeting our international guest shared some notes she had taken while with us. Our new honorary Jersey Girl liked many of the things she heard, and she wanted us to know it. She quoted several people - some things were funny, some were moving. It was a nice gesture.
Sky and I went home through Lambertville, and it was a very pretty ride through the country. I am so glad I landed in New Jersey!
Sky's Toiletries Collection
Sky is happy to report her successful project and the joyous response from Unforgotten Haven. Many thanks to all the generous contributors. If you have donations still, you can bring them to the next Sigma meeting.
Our last business meeting of the year was held on May 21st at Renita's home.
We celebrated our Grant in Aid recipient, Dahlia Legenski, got through Association business, and enjoyed the good food and company of our sisters.
Alice Paul House
Our group tour of the Alice Paul house on March 28th was informative and eye-opening.
